This new still is now being tested for home distillation. It is a Swedish invention with the following advantages:

Legal to own. This still is legal to own in all countries. But it is not legal to use in all countries..

Easy to build. This home distillation still is easy to build. It takes 15 minutes and no welding is involved.

This still needs no stove and no cooling water to distill alcohol from a mash made of sugar (sucrose) and Turbo Yeast.

This still produces 1 litre 35-40% of very pure alcohol per day. To make it 55% you have to distill twice.

Process maintains itself, no looking after it is necessary. One distills 3 litres in 3 days, the only thing to be done is to turn off or restart the still after 3 days.

Price is very low and anyone can build this still at home.

Already have a still? This still is great to pre distill your mash. As there is no boiling involved, the alcohol produced has very little fusel oils in it and is much more fun to distill than an ordinary mash.

Free drafts and info will be published here on this site

There have been costs incurred to develop this invention. Nonetheless, drafts and info will probably be free to download on this site.

New Turbo Yeast on the way

To make this still work even better, Gert Strand is developing 2 new Turbo Yeast to be launched in November 2002. Those 2 Turbos, one making 14% alcohol and the other making 16-18% alcohol, ferment so pure that there is no other yeast, worldwide, that ferments purer. This Turbo Yeast is tailor made for this still – and the only yeast in the world that will be recomended for the still – but it will improve all home distillation. But on one condition only: air temp must be maximum 30C and mash volume maximum 25 litre because if this yeast ferments to warm, it will produce a lot of by products.
